Juice 30 : Plump DJs Guest Mix
August 15, 2011 10:51 AM PDT
In this edition you can expect the usual driving house music consisting of tracks that have been destroying many a dancefloor for me in recent months & a couple tracks that simply never grow old! The last half an hour is fronted by global mega-stars; Plump DJs. Being early pioneers of the breakbeat genre, the Plump DJs have diversified in recent years to incorporate new styles such as electro, house & bass music. Their sound is still widely thought to maintain a breakbeat aesthetic, but their productions and DJ sets have become stylistically broader. Their live guest mix pretty much epitomizes this notion! In 2010, the Plump DJs began releasing material on new London-based label Grand Hotel. Be sure to check the guys out here Enjoy! Max p.s You can catch me playing for the next TRIBES event at The White House, London next Friday 26th August: Tracklisting for the show: 1. Emil Croff - This Is My House (Club Mix)

Hello folks.. As the summer draws near.. it's only fitting to provide you with some laid back grooves, in the form of a special 'Bargrooves Edition' podcast. For the first hour i've hand selected 11 classic scorchers; any more laid back.. they'd fall over! Taking you into the second hour is Ben Sowton. Ben, who is the creator of the Seamless Recordings label, can rightly lay claim to kick starting the trend for bar/cocktail inspired compilation albums that is sweeping across continents. Ben created the legandary Bargrooves series, as a consequence of being involved in the club scene through underground house parties & setting up one of London’s most successful clubs, The White House. http://www.seamlessrecordings.com
Nowadays, Ben soley concentrates on the running of The White House & his Seamless Recording label, in which he elegantly represents in the second hour with a selection of tracks from his forthcoming CD compilation 'Best Of Funky House Anthems Vol.2' http://bit.ly/BestOfFunkyHouseAnthemsVol2 Enjoy! Since coming into fruition 5 years ago, TRIBES has been at the forefront of the London house scene with regular nights at The White House & Inigo, to name a couple. Dom himself, has a DJ resume as long as the eye can see & continues to deliver sensational nights in the SW1 region to all his faithful followers. Juice 26 is as sprightly as ever; enriched with the finest in funky house music, with a small sprinkling of dirtiness towards the end Artists like Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Chris Lake, Erick Morillo & the soon to be huge Wolfgang Gartner are leading the way in this edition so all that's left to say...is... 5 years on & 2 million downloads later Juice has finally reached episode number 25! I was hoping the 25th edition would be the recording of my set at The White House in London on Saturday but as that wasn't possible i've hand-picked the highlights of that very set along with a couple timeless classics & a selection of fresh, unseasoned, funkers to compliment a Guest Mix which is equally as uplifting. The last 30 minutes comes from UK dance outfit Bimbo Jones, comprising of Lee Dagger, Marc JB & vocalist Katherine Ellis. Known for turning popular chart-toppers into dancefloor-destroyers, they possess a back catalogue as long as ones arm, remixing for the likes of Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Usher, Pink & most recently the one & only JLS. Juice 24 has been served up & is ready to be polished off by you, the delightful listener In this edition you'll be treated to the likes of Seamus Haji, ATFC, Mark Knight, Axwell & EDX with a 30 minute guest mix from a guy that needs no intro: Chris Lake. He's been personally responsible for sending shivers down many a spine, including mine, with personal favourites like 'Changes' & 'Carry Me Away'. It isn't just the fluffy stuff he's adept at producing, it's the filthy, downright dirty beats he's equally known for. Think Miami WMC, think Beach Stage at Global Gathering.. that's where the 23rd edition of Juice aims to take you with the likes of Mark Knight, Eric Morillo, Hardsoul & a cheeky little mash-up from myself Carrying on from the theme of the last episode, I'm proud to welcome two heavy-weights to the Juice Guest Mix slot: Mr Vito Lucento & Mr Nicolas Scaravilli, better known as Junior Jack & Kid Crème. With the hot weather imminently upon us & be it for the gym, car or at work, here's some fuel to power your musical needs. Juice 22 is the usual blend of classic & upfront sexy funky house music, including remixes from the legends that are Hott 22, Stonebridge & Joey Negro & a couple classics to begin & end on. Juice hands over the last 30 minutes to a guy that really knows how to make great, soulful, house music. Since his first release in 2002 with 'People Are People' Richard Earnshaw has been one of the rising stars of the house scene, with tracks appearing on Hed Kandi & Defected albums amongst many others & his remix of Wez Clarke's 'Another Chance' appearing on Juice 19, being one of my favourite house tracks of all time. Taking time out from his many other projects, Richard has provided us with 5 heart-warming, soul-infused, groovers to end on. For more info on Richard, head over to his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/richardearnshaw Enjoy! Tracklisting for the show: 1. Hardsoul - Deep Inside (Soul Conspiracy Remix)

Juice 21 is another journey through music Utopia... Entering through the golden gates, you'll be taken on a paradisiacal path to a world where Sexy Funky House Music is the holy grail! As usual let me know what you think, spread the word & above all... Enjoy! Max Tracklisting for the show: 1. Danny Clark & Jay Benham feat. SuSu Bobien - Wondrous (ATFC's Lectrotek Vocal Mix)

I don't know about you but when i heard the horrible news on Thursday night my heart sank & ever since it's hit me hard having to accept the fact that Michael Jackson isn't around anymore. Needless to say i'm a huge fan of his music but as we all realize, his music will live on, in fact Mj's tracks still sound as fresh as ever & i'm sure that'll be the case in 100 years from now. It's just the fact that Michael Jackson stood for a lot of positive things & in a way, was a God-like figure to a lot of people all around the globe. In my opinion he was hounded by the press until the day he died but whatever your thoughts on MJ are, 99% of people all agree on 1 thing, he is the King of Pop & maybe even the King of Music. So as my own personal tribute to the legend that is Michael Jackson, here is a special Juice-Infused, MJ-filled, Funkathon-Mix for you to download & 'remember the time'.... 'Enjoy Yourself' p.s Don't forget to join the Juice Facebook Group : http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=63790530514 Tracklisting for the Mix: 1. Michael Jackson vs Mylo - Drop Me Bad

The big 20 has arrived! In this edition i treat you to a 77 minute mix recorded live at 'The White House' in London, where i DJed on the 30th May for a night called 'Tribes' (run by Dom Makin). It was a great night, the atmosphere was electric, which i suppose inspired the artwork i made to accompany the episode The peak-time set is full of what you've come to expect from the podcast with some rather encompassing, chunky kicks that you probably won't expect. Funky, uplifting & melodic are once again perfect words to describe the flow & energy of the mix... so all that's left for you to do now is, download &...
